Intelligent technical systems

The technology network "Intelligent Technical Systems Ostwestfalen-Lippe (it´s OWL)" is a trademark in OstWestfalen-Lippe.  On January 19, 2012, it's OWL was honored as a top cluster of the BMBF. This is a great success and demonstrates the performance of the technology location. 

The cluster brings together 180 companies, universities, research institutions and organizations to jointly shape the innovative leap from mechatronics to intelligent technical systems.

The aim is to strengthen the position of mechanical engineering, the electrical and electronics industry and the automotive supply industry in global competition and to secure value creation and employment. The focus here is on the innovative leap from mechatronics to systems with inherent partial intelligence. 

Fraunhofer IOSB-INA is working on several projects in the Leading-Edge Cluster related to self-configuration and energy-optimized operation of production facilities.
