Cross-manufacturer teamwork for indoor localization
Lemgo, 06.06.2023 -The very first omlox Plugfest recently took place and provided a platform for networking, professional exchange and collegial collaboration. The Plugfest was organized to test the compatibility and interoperability of omlox V2, an open standard for UWB-indoor localization in an industrial context.
omlox strives for the international standardization of solutions for UWB-indoor localization. This enables, for example, the localization infrastructure of one manufacturer to communicate with the tags of another manufacturer. This opens up possibilities for cross-location localization solutions. In addition, omlox offers interfaces for the integration of other localization technologies such as GPS for outdoor use or Bluetooth.
The plugfest included tests for hub and core zones to check the cross-manufacturer functionality. The main goal was to ensure interoperability and establish reliable standards in the field of indoor localization.
The omlox Plugfest was an international event with a total of eight different companies taking part, including infrastructure manufacturers, tag manufacturers, hub developers and UWB chip manufacturers. The diversity of companies involved reflected the broad industry support for the omlox standard.
The Plugfest took place over a two-day period of intensive testing, discussion and experience sharing. The event helped to drive the development of omlox and make an important contribution to establishing interoperable and reliable standards in the field of indoor localization.
